Deep Valley Huon Chardonnay – Gravei Terroir

750ml. Deep Valley is a new collaboration between Father and Son team Steve, of Stefano Lubiana Wines and Marco Lubiana. A balance of Steve Lubiana’s classically graceful wine making style and Marco’s youthful intuitiveness has resulted in a new joint label for the talented duo. Developed to produce small batch wines from Steve’s biodynamic vineyards located in the Derwent and Huon Valleys, these limited production, unusual and alternative wines are pure expressions of creative thought. Upon opening this gorgeous white wine it dispays a rich nose full of lemon peel, grape pith, quince, toast and flint. The palate immediately follows with bright and vibrant acidity, a round and creamy mouthfeel and a long finish. A great match with fresh and cooked shellfish! Cellaring potential 5 years. NOTE: “Gravei” terroir, specifically referring to the vineyards of Graves in Bordeaux, is characterized by its gravelly soils and the influence they have on the wines produced there. These soils, composed of gravel, sand, and clay, create well-drained vineyards that are ideal for grape growing, particularly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The gravelly mounds retain heat, aiding in grape ripening, while the varying layers of soil influence the flavors and structure of the wines.
